Development of Bangladesh National Formulary (BDNF) Online: The Authority on the Selection and use of Medicines in Bangladesh | (www.bdnf.org.bd)

Description

How to take medication at right dose and right time (RUD)? What are possible mistakes and side effects? What are different dosage forms of the product available? These common questions always peep into mind of general to all categories of people in all the times, but however, although it is a matter of regret as still, we have no online version drug information in Bangladesh in the era of digital time until this initiative. Moreover, drug information in the internet may dubious in quality and downright misleading due to cultural and language variation and are not specific to drug question. So, lack of homegrown medicinal website content can misguide our patients, lack of information (i.e. drug price, blacklisted drug etc.) may put the Right to Information Act, 2009 and Digital Bangladesh Vision, 2021 policy under microscope. Unauthorized and commercial online drug indexes, may contain advertising, confusing/biased and wrong information.
BDNF (Bangladesh National Formulary) Online is a pharma indexing informative website providing tailored solutions for Bangladesh market that comprises >30,000 prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines and natural products from the official publishing of Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA)- Bangladesh. The online BDNF is designed as a digest for rapid and easy reference, where accumulation of drug information specifically on the drugs available in Bangladesh through ICT occurs.
