The overall objective of the open data initiative is to make the data available to all, but especially to encourage the reuse of data in order to create value-added services. The specific objectives are:
• allow the government to be accountable to citizens on the management of public goods;
• enable citizens to participate in the management of public goods through feedback;
• enable civil society, journalists, investors and academics to access large data on Burkina Faso;
• allow the private sector to create jobs and contribute to the reduction of unemployment in Burkina Faso;
• Accelerate economic and social development of Burkina Faso.
