WSIS Prizes Contest 2023 Nominee

SDWAN and customer Wi-Fi across 130 buildings

Description

Ministry of Health Entire Branch Network having 134 Branches including the HQ and KDC DC. MOH would like to enhance the legacy WAN cloud from a performance, latency and cost perspectives while still maintaining a high level of security.
MOH was looking for a cost effective solution to replace/assist the existing MPLS solution with proven and efficient technology without affecting service security levels of MOH services like SD-Wan over ADSL and 4G.
Bandwidth costs to be lowered, deployment and configuration times to be shortened, and Internet performance to be improved while making sure the traffic is highly secured are the main objectives of this project.Fortinet recognizes the critically important and evolving role Internet usage play MOH infrastructure, ensuring both maximum customer service availability and reliability of valuable application performance. We recognize the need to provide solutions that will enable consolidation and simplification of the VPN for MOH while ensuring performance effectiveness at a better-cost point. We are not only meeting the requirements, we are providing innovative price /performance to meet the future needs of MOH to comfortably handle the increasing volumes and changing nature of network traffic. The FortiGate’s unmatched performance for VPN allows organizations to establish secure communications and data privacy between multiple networks and hosts by leveraging custom security processors (SPUs) to accelerate encryption and decryption of network traffic.

Sustainability

To succeed in achieving sustainability as per MOHAP's vision, software defined networking is building connectivity with the existing connectivity provided by the service providers. SD-WAN solution for MOHAP hospitals and entities will provide greater flexibility, control and visibility of the IT infrastructure. This will help MOHAP to run more streamlined services, improving user experience and making operations more efficient, driving operational excellence.

WSIS values promotion

SD-WAN solution for MOHAP has targeted the action lines - AL C2 : Information and Communication Infrastructure - accordingly MOHAP hospitals and entities will provide greater flexibility, control and visibility of the IT infrastructure. This will help MOHAP to run more streamlined services, improving user experience and making operations more efficient, driving operational excellence. To provide a Cost effective Solution (hardware and software) that can replace/enhance the current setup and cover 134 branches using lower cost network (ADSL, 4G,….) 2. The solutions will provide a replacement/enhancement for traditional WAN routers and will be agnostic to WAN transport technologies. 3. The solution will provide dynamic, policy-based, application path selection across multiple WAN connections and supports service chaining for additional services such as WAN optimization and firewalls. 4. The Solution will provide Role-based access control (RBAC) 5. The solution is capable of providing detailed logging of traffic specially traffic going through the firewalls 6. FortiGate are widely compatible with most known event management (SIEM) solutions 7. The solution is able to provide secure tunnels based on secure key exchange, and unique codes for identifying and activating the solution components. 8. Dynamic routing path selection according to predefined roles. 9. The solution is built with scalable in mind to cater MOH current and future requirements. 10. The solution is designed to support branches scalability simultaneously using medium such as ADSL, 3G, 4G etc…
