Smart Cities National Infrastructure Code and building supporting technical capacities

Description

The transformation of cities into smarter and more sustainable environments is essential towards achieving the objectives of UNSDG, and outcomes of Egypt2030 vision and its Sustainable Development Strategy (SDS) as well as its decarbonization of Egypt economy.
In this regard and due to Lack of national unified and standardized code/guidelines for building Smart Sustainable Cities, NTRA has developed and issued codes and guidelines for design and implement Telcom infrastructure that can accommodate different services and applications in smart cites and insure the reediness of this infrastructure for future technologies to promote the economic and social development.
And to Ensure that codes are applied with the proper approach and in line with the goal of building and developing a workforce of both genders and creating new job possibilities that complement to deal with issued codes and guidelines, NTRA in cooperation with the different authorities, established a free optical fiber networks training program to train those in charge of implementing national guidelines and codes. To date, there are three thousand trainees benefiting from this free program.
