5G Network Co-build and Co-share

Description

This project is another major breakthrough and innovation in China's global leadership in 5G innovation development. Through the nationwide 5G co-construction, deployment, and application, we have achieved "one physical network and two logical networks". This proves the feasibility of wireless system sharing development and solves major challenges such as performance, power consumption, and operation. By taking full advantage of the advantages of the two operators in spectrum, transmission, site location, and manpower resources, we have built a 5G high-bandwidth network that covers more people, provides better user experience, lower network energy consumption, and minimizes the overall TCO. By using the 5G network, smart healthcare provided by multiple scientific and technological enterprises has been promoted in hospitals and health service centers, effectively alleviating the difficulty of insufficient healthcare personnel and reducing the risk of cross infection among healthcare providers. Blockchain technology is used to build a trust collaboration platform to ensure efficient operation of shared networks. AI energy-saving technologies are used to implement green network operation.

In the 2C field, based on key innovative technologies and industry collaboration for 5G RAN Sharing of SA evolution, it served over 600 million shared network users worldwide and achieved the highest peak rate of 2.7 Gbit/s for a single user on the world's first C-band commercial network. In the 2B domain, Huawei has been the first to implement digital infrastructure capabilities such as wide area priority, latency-sensitive, and security-sensitive, based on the technology innovation of 5G RAN sharing and customization of private networks, and has applied more than 2000 projects. This project builds the foundation of the digital economy and empowers thousands of industries, implements the "Dual Carbon Action Plan", and contributes to the global fight against epidemics.

Replicability

The 5G RAN sharing of wireless systems requires the solution of complex network architecture and operation and scheduling problems, and the basic problems of cost, efficiency, operation and scheduling, and energy consumption. The project overcomes a series of operation and scheduling challenges, such as co-construction, sharing, maintenance, and optimization, improving the operation efficiency of the shared network, reducing energy consumption, and improving user experience.Replicability involving three technologies:

1.NSA Co-construction and Shared Anchor Technology
In the NSA phase, both 4G anchor sites and 5G base stations need to be shared. In addition, the differences in frequency policies, network load, and vendors on the live network of the two parties are considered, and factors such as user experience, implementation speed, construction investment, and maintenance difficulty are considered. The single-anchor sharing solution and dual-anchor sharing solution are proposed for 5G access network sharing innovation. The implementation modes such as anchor transfer and anchor selection are adopted to meet the requirements of different service scenarios.

2.Operation Scheduling Management Technology of Shared Network
First, the blockchain technology is introduced to build a user data security base, provide data interaction and data desensitization, establish a mutual trust mechanism, and embed the three production and operation scenarios. Second, a unified AI intelligent energy-saving platform for base stations across the entire network based on internal data and AI capabilities, and uses AI energy-saving algorithms, energy-saving protection, and energy-saving instructions. Make contributions to energy conservation and emission reduction, especially green 5G technologies.

3.Innovative technologies for shared networks ToB private networks
Supported 300 Zhiyuan 5G customized network projects and developed more than 20,000 5G private line users.

Sustainability

The shared network architecture and operation scheduling technologies not only innovate the 5G network architecture and operation scheduling technologies, but also solve the problem of continuous user experience and unperceived user experience. This feature enables network sharing, and ensures that network services are relatively independent of each other. It has forward-to-back compatibility and evolution capabilities. Especially in the face of complex telecom network operation management system, after network sharing, the two parties can share the network operation scheduling data, visualized and manageable, efficient and fair resource scheduling, and ensure mutual trust.

The project will cover all 5G bands, including Sub6G and millimeter wave, and will continue throughout the 5G network life cycle.

WSIS values promotion

Carbon emission reduction:China Telecom cooperates closely with China Unicom and China Tower to actively promote the 5G RAN sharing of communication infrastructure such as base stations, pipelines, poles and roads, effectively reducing repeated construction, saving land resources, reducing energy and raw material consumption, and jointly protecting green homes. Poverty eradication: Based on 5G RAN sharing, we will build a 5G full-coverage network from cities to county towns, towns, and rural areas to achieve universal 5G services, bridge the digital divide, and help poor areas develop rural economies through various forms, such as agricultural products live and goods delivery and rural tourism. Eliminate poverty and achieve common prosperity. Hunger elimination: 5G RAN Sharing networks help build smart agriculture, improve agricultural production efficiency, and increase food yield, helping eliminate hunger. Helping with health: Build smart healthcare based on 5G RAN sharing networks. Use telemedicine to provide high-quality medical resources to cover more people, save lives of more patients through quick first aid, and use wearable devices to monitor blood pressure, heart rate, cholesterol, blood sugar, temperature, and triglycerides. Blood oxygen, uric acid and other human body indicators to achieve health management. Helping with education: Through distance education, children in remote areas can enjoy high-quality teacher education resources in the city, thus mastering knowledge, changing fate, and benefiting society.
