The Digital China "Pilot Project" is aimed at help the general public to participate and understand China's policy directions, industrial development, with an active role in boosting internet-based poverty alleviation, e-commerce in rural areas, and transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises. At the same time, the project also made its contribution in improving the digital skills of the whole society, and encouraging the participation of youngsters, females, and those living in remote areas in digitalization. The project echoes WSIS's concept to eliminate information asymmetry and bridge the digital gap through media.
