National Tourism Monitoring Platform

National Tourism Monitoring Platform

Description

To achieve and accomplish the strategic tourism objectives of Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage has recently established and launched the National Tourism Monitoring Platform (NTMP).
It is in line with the country’s digital transformation program, a key part of the Saudi Vision 2030, and is aimed at boosting competitiveness and efficiency in the sector by providing easy and quick access to information.

NTMP is an effective and integrated e-platform designed to monitor the hotel accommodations’ activities in the Kingdom and to conduct a comprehensive and accurate assessment of the movement of tourism across Saudi Arabia through the necessary resource management mechanisms and measures.

By providing up-to-date business intelligence and instant statistics about tourist facilities, the system will significantly improve quality and services. This in turn will facilitate and stimulate investment in the tourism sector.

The key objectives are:
1. Regulate the connection between accommodation facilities and SCTH.
2. Developing a unified e-platform for tourism movement monitoring through tourist accommodation facilities.
3. Improving and enhancing all types of services provided by accommodation facilities.
4. Swift easy access to reach information.
5. Boosting domestic and international investments through providing real-time and accurate data about tourism movement in the Kingdom.
6. Ensuring the accuracy and high quality of data and statistics of the accommodation facilities.

Replicability

The National Tourism Monitoring Platform is a very successful, user-friendly and well-developed system that can be easily replicated to benefit other related verticals in the tourism sector such as travel agencies, transportation, food and beverage, training, etc. The reproducibility and replicability of this enterprise will offer tremendous value to the entities and will improve rigor, transparency, accountability and quality as well as standardization of products and pricing which will contribute to the overall growth of business and economy. One of the main aspects of this project is its sound and feasible replication and adaptability as part of our knowledge sharing strategy.

Sustainability

Long-term sustainability and inclusiveness are paramount to The National Tourism Monitoring Platform. It is designed to control the quality of accommodation and integrating with the system is mandatory for all hotel accommodations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Failure to do so can lead to severe penalties including cancellation of license. With robust performance metrics, it will continue to positively transform and enhance the tourism sector in Saudi Arabia and will strengthen the hospitality industry – a key driver of economic growth.

We are fully accountable and transparent to all stakeholders with the goal of achieving the highest level of standardization by providing sustainable information and support. Within the framework of national e-strategy, an impact assessment process has been developed to monitor progress and measure the effectiveness and continuation of the platform.

We have set a strong operational foundation with the right infrastructure, carefully selected strategic partnerships as well as intellectual capital and resources that will ensure long-term success and growth of tourism. Sound decision making with well-defined standard operating procedures allow us to anticipate the unexpected and prevent any disruption in service or standards opening new opportunities of growth. Tourism will spur sustainable economic growth for Saudi Arabia and create opportunities for all.

WSIS values promotion

Creating an information society is vital to our e-strategy and advanced technology infrastructure and tools are central to achieving the goal of digital inclusion enabling universal and sustainable support to the tourism sector. The NTMP platform holds enormous benefit for our communities by maximizing the social, economic and environmental opportunities and value. It is part of our policy to modernize and diversify the economy and create a long-term foundation to prioritize and achieve sustainable growth in tourism, generate jobs, enhance and protect the welfare and experience of the community and visitors to the country ensuring fair pricing and product standardization. NTMP will be instrumental in building our tourism capacity as well as support our aggressive drive to secure private sector employment for young nationals while accelerate reforms and competitiveness. With growth in the tourism sector, we will generate more and better jobs in tourism sectors and this will sure No Poverty. The sustained growth of tourism will open immense opportunities for socio-economic welfare, poverty alleviation and overall advancement of WSIS values. Saudi Arabia has enormous potential for tourism development. World-class standards, policies and systems will stimulate inbound and domestic tourism, which will protect our heritage through social, cultural and environmental sustainability. It will streamline procedures and licensing initiatives, which will support our efforts to attract foreign direct investment in tourism.
