Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA), has successfully deployed Converged Infrastructure solutions to deliver IT-as-a-Service and realize their ambitious goals for Saudi Vision 2030. According to the National Transformation Program 2020, set to develop the capabilities needed to achieve the goals of Vision 2030, MEWA’s core strategic objectives are centered on improving financial efficiency, enhancing service quality, supporting national companies and contributing to diversification. With such a critical role to play in the nation’s innovation agenda, MEWA aimed to automate its data center and create a centralized platform to host and deliver agile digital services, enabling all three ministries (Agriculture, Water & Environment) to unlock new efficiencies to meet the demands of the national vision.

The virtualization project improved overall operational effectiveness in MEWA, by running many applications on a single physical converged solution, we are able to bring down hardware and license costs. By reducing the amount of hardware, we also reduce the rate of failure. By having a unified interface for accessing all of our systems, and by having a reduced number of physical servers we are able greatly simplify our system and its management. By eliminating many physical machines we reduce power consumption, cooling requirements, and space requirements. System resources used to virtualized new web and smart application operating systems compared to total system resources available. Network speed and ping time compared to previous state are improved with efficiency in speed and connectivity
