WSIS&SDG TalkX - International Day of Older Persons: Resilience in a Changing World
The International Day of Older persons is observed on 1 October every year, aiming to raise awareness about issues faced by older persons, but to also appreciate the contributions that older persons make to society. The 2022 theme of the UN International Day of Older Persons, “Resilience of Older Persons in a Changing World”, serves as a hallmark and reminder of the significant role older women play in traversing global challenges and contributing to their solutions with resilience and fortitude.
This WSIS&SDG TalkX will gather a multistakeholder panel to highlight the resilience of older women in the face of environmental, social, economic and lifelong inequalities, with a primary focus on how Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have been and are still playing a major role.
Friday, 30 September 2022, 14:00 – 15:00 CEST (UTC+02:00)
The WSIS Prizes 2023 contest will be recognizing outstanding success stories from around the world for their part in building an inclusive information society. WSIS Stakeholders are encouraged to submit their ICT-related projects and initiatives for the annual contest before the 7 December 2022 deadline.
The Agenda and Programme of the WSIS Forum will be built on the basis of the submissions received during the Open Consultation Process (OCP). The OCP aims at ensuring a participatory and inclusive spirit of the Forum. This process actively engages multistakeholders in the preparatory process to ensure broad ownership and further improvements of the Forum.
