WSIS+20 in Action: Implementation, Cooperation and Review – Part II
UN DESA
Session 314
Facilitation Session for WSIS Action Line C11
The WSIS+20 outcome reaffirmed the importance of international and regional cooperation in advancing inclusive, people-centred and development-oriented digital transformation. It also emphasized the need to strengthen implementation, follow-up and review of WSIS in light of rapid technological change and evolving digital cooperation priorities.
This UN DESA facilitation session will provide an open multistakeholder space to discuss follow-up to WSIS+20 implementation, with a focus on WSIS Action Line C11 on international and regional cooperation. The session will take stock of progress, discuss priorities under the C11 Implementation Roadmap, and exchange views on how cooperation among WSIS stakeholders can support digital development and bridge digital divides.
The session will also consider linkages with the 2030 Agenda, the Global Digital Compact, the IGF, CSTD, the STI Forum and other relevant United Nations digital cooperation processes. It is expected to support coordination, information-sharing and collaboration among WSIS stakeholders in the next phase of WSIS follow-up.
