Aligned with this year’s WSIS Forum theme: ICTs for Inclusive, Resilient and Sustainable Societies and Economies (WSIS Action Lines for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals), the Launch of the Special Track on ICTs and Youth strives to highlight the WSIS activities furthering the contribution of the global youth in the implementation of the WSIS process and its many activities, promoting the indispensable role of ICTs in shaping the information society to better serve all stakeholders, and aligning with the United Nations Youth Strategy: Youth 2030 – working with and for young people.

The session will gather young people who have been a part of the WSIS Forum 2021 internship program, obtaining a first-hand impression of the day-to-day working environment of the United Nations. As part of the WSIS team, they will share their experiences on how it feels to be working directly with WSIS stakeholders, what are their lessons learnt while being exposed to the WSIS Forum 2021, and how they see the role of youth in international development, with particular focus on the use of ICTs.
