Towards a Digital Government

During this session, the UAE government officials will focus on presenting the UAE government’s transformation plan towards a digital government as per the leadership’s vision. It will highlight projects that support the transformation. Three of the projects were addressed as Champions by the WSIS Forum, one of them was the ‘SHEFAA’ app and portal, which was recognized as the winner. ‘SHEFAA’ facilitates a variety of health-related services and provides a ready reference to the patients’ health files.
 
Projects praised as Champions this year and previous years include TDRA Codi, Abu Dhabi Open Data Platform and Mohammad Bin Rashid Innovation Fund. TDRA Academy provides free online courses in business, technology and soft skills, in both Arabic and English. It supports online work and distance education, and provides a platform for a future led by technology and artificial intelligence, post the spread of COVID-19.
 
The Abu Dhabi Open Data Platform aims to promote the sharing of open data and encourages the invention of solutions with the goal of boosting the Emirate’s economy, raising transparency in its functioning and enhancing its ranks in related indicators.
 
Mohammad Bin Rashid Innovation Fund (MBRIF) aims to promote innovation. Its sub-program “Guarantee Scheme”, supports high potential innovators through a government-backed guarantee and its other sub-program “Innovation Accelerator”, nurtures and supports high potential innovators to thrive in an ecosystem that drives the growth of their businesses.

Mr. Abdelaziz AlZarooni

Abdelaziz Alzarooni is a Team Leader for Cybersecurity Capacity Development in the UAE Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority. He leads national programs for awareness and capability building in cybersecurity as well as Child Online Protection, with the aim of creating a safer cyber environment.

Abdelaziz is the chair of the council working group on child online protection and a vice-chair of the ITU-D Study Group 2 within ITU.


Mr. Ali Juma AlAjme
Mr. Ali Juma AlAjme Director of Digital Health Department Ministry of Health and Prevention

Ali Alajme has a Master degree in Executive MBA from Higher Colleges of Technology. He graduated from Mohammed Bin Rashid Government Innovation Center in Association with Cambridge university of UK. He is an alumni of Mohammed Bin Rashid Leadership development program in Executive leadership associated with Duke University. He is a certified Kaplan-Norton Balance Scorecard and Strategy Execution from Palladium. He is Alumni of Government Experience Exchange Trainers from UAE prime minister office program.

Ali Alajme worked in many initiatives one of them is National Unified Medical Record of UAE and UAE smart initiative. He was awarded of providing the best mobile service in government summit 2015. Ali Alajme worked in many committee such as AI data committee, Smart Services committee, Arab Health Committee and federal committee of adoption of 4th industry generation. Ali Alajme was honored to be CIO of year 2020 by IDC/IDG due his work in technology during the pandemic.

Ali Alajme has worked in many board of directors in the private sector where his experience in building their strategies helped the companies to prosper and increase their wealth. He has 16 years of experience when he started as an engineer in Department of Economic development in Dubai to Director of Digital Health Department in Ministry of Health and Prevention


Mr. Abdullah Mohamed Al Marzouqi
Mr. Abdullah Mohamed Al Marzouqi Open Data Department Director Abu Dhabi Digital Authority

Mr. Al Marzouqi is the Director of the Open Data Department at the Abu Dhabi Digital Authority, and he has managed several projects in the data field since joining the Authority in 2009


Mr. Shaker Zainal
Mr. Shaker Zainal Business Finance Director Emirates Development Bank

Shaker Zainal is the Business Finance Director at Emirates Development Bank. He is leading plans to enhance the bank’s offering as part of EDB’s new strategy to become a key engine for growth of the UAE’s economy and the post-COVID recovery, emphasizing on  entrepreneurship and innovation, adopting advanced technologies, generating In-Country Value as well as the 4th Industrial Revolution. He is also Head of MBRIF, on behalf of Emirates Development Bank, who have been appointed by Ministry of Finance to host and operate the fund. Mr Zainal holds an executive MBA from HULT International Business School (Boston, USA) and a Bachelor’s in Accounting from the UAE University.


Ms. Fatima AlNaqbi
Ms. Fatima AlNaqbi Chief Innovation Officer and the Head of Strategy and Future Department Ministry of Finance

Fatima Alnaqbi is the Chief Innovation Officer and the Head of Strategy and Future Department at Ministry of Finance. She is working on promoting the culture of innovation through a number of initiatives at the ministry and responsible of managing a number of strategic innovation initiatives to contribute to supporting the innovation ecosystem in the UAE such as the Mohammed Bin Rashid Innovation Fund.

Received her Master’s degree in business administration from the University of Sharjah, a Diploma in Public Sector Innovation from Cambridge University, UK and a diploma in government performance from The University of Melbourne, Australia.
