Information about the project
Haze Gazer: A Haze Real-time Analysis & Visualisation Tool
Haze Gazer
Pulse Lab Jakarta developed Haze Gazer, a haze crisis analysis and visualisation tool. The platform enhances disaster management efforts, by providing real-time insights on the locations and strength of hotspots. An early version of Haze gazer also had the capabilities to produce insights on the most vulnerable cohorts of a population and response strategies. The existing platform is being improved to include an air quality prediction system. Three types of data are used: meteorological, fire hotspots from satellite imagery, and visibility information from photos shared on social media. Deep learning approaches are applied to remove irrelevant photos, infer visibility, and predict air quality levels.
