Information about the project
Credit risk scoring for smallholder farmers
Harvesting CRS
Harvesting is developing an AI-driven credit risk scoring system to help financial institutions make and monitor loans to farmers in the developing world. The tool uses alternative data sources, such as satellite imaging data and agronomic data, and machine learning algorithms, to predict yields and model cashflows and risk profiles of farmers. The credit scoring system increases the availability of credit to farmers to invest in their farms, while lowering the risk, costs and time associated with agri-lending for financial institutions.
