VITIB
The Village of ICT & Biotechnology of Côte d’Ivoire (VITIB) is a joint venture between the State of Côte d’Ivoire and the private sector to create a free trade zone dedicated to the development of ICT and Biotechnology in western Africa by the Law N° 2004-429 which offers some tax and duties incentives to Investors. The vison of the VITIB is to build the 1st Technology Park in Africa. To do so, VITIB S.A, the private company in charge of the development of the promotion of the ICT & Biotechnology Park, launched in January 2017 a study to work on the Master Plan of the Technology Park of Grand-Bassam with the support of the African Development Bank and the Government of Côte d’Ivoire. That study conducted by an international firm has been completed in November 2017 by defining the urban and architectural guidelines of the future Smart City of Côte d’Ivoire on a prime land of 242 Ha located in the World Heritage City, Grand-Bassam, and closed to 15mn from the international airport of Abidjan. The objectives of the Master Plan of VITIB is to build the best environment in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, a Green Smart City which will offer the best place to Work, the best city to Live and the best area to have Fun! The ultimate goals of the Government through the VITIB project is to create 40 000 employments and attract 2 billions USD of investments in the ICT & Biotechnology sector.
