Reinventing Democracy in the Digital Era
Reinventing democracy refers to theory and activities by Future Worlds Center aiming to re-inventing democracy. "Reinventing Democracy in the Digital Era", funded by UN Democracy Fund engages >1000 young people from across all continents in weeklong face-to-face and virtual structured deliberations. Aim is to identify shortcomings of current systems of democracy, and propose innovative/concrete characteristics of future ideal systems. A collectively-authored Manifesto will facilitate the design of democratic systems that meet 21st century expectations, exploit digital era, are grounded on humanistic and sustainability values, counteract corruption and lack of accountability, and are authentically participatory harnessing the collective wisdom of citizens.
