The goal of Indonesia ICT Volunteer is to empower Indonesian communities toward Indonesia Information Society with knowledge and skills in utilizing ICTs in order to improve community’s livelihoods and enhance national competitiveness through socialization, education and ICT training by excellent and skillful volunteers. To achieve the goal of Indonesian Information Society, then Indonesia ICT Volunteers (IICTV) conducted four main programs as follows: 1) Community Education and Development in ICT Sector; 2) Community Advocacy on ICT Technology and Infrastructure development; 3) Application Development and Content; 4) Creating Partnership and Public Relations. These programs were designed to be executed until 2019, and targeted to cover 34 provinces all throughout Indonesia, and to be replicated in almost 50% of regencies / cities throughout Indonesia. The added value of the project is that IICTV is a community-based organization which increases community participation and ownership sustainability. The organization membership is open for high school and college students, employees and ICT experts who voluntarily participate in this activity. Each member of the community can play an active role in utilizing ICT through the organization which correspondingly increases the sense of belonging of the community to the organization. Furthermore, ownership of the organization and inclusive information society may elevate the level of sustainability. The importance of this project focuses on the efforts to bridge the digital divide in Indonesia so that ICTs can give benefit to the community. It is widely known that the implementation of ICTs must be accompanied by building the capacity of the community so they realize the benefits and have the capability to actively engage in utilizing ICT to improve their quality of life.
