Information about the project
Bibliomist Program
Bibliomist is a joint effort between civil society, librarians and government that is modernizing Ukraine's public libraries to ensure all citizens have access to the information they need to improve their lives. In Ukraine, where only 17% of the population has Internet access, Bibliomist has equipped 986 libraries since 2009 with public access computers and internet, and updated thousands of librarians' skills in serving as community information guides. Most of those libraries offer e-government services. In November 2011, 884,090 people visited a library that thanks to Bibliomist offers e-governance services.
