More than 1,200 girls and non-binary gathered at Reykjavík University when Girls, non-binary and Technology, an annual event took place on Friday, May 23. Girls, non-binary and Technology has established itself as one of Reykjavík University's largest events each year, but the event was first held in 2014 as part of the ITU Girls In ICT Day.Participants attended workshops with students, teachers and former students at RU, including in video game design, programming and mathematical optimization, and student presentations. Many of the country's largest technology companies also welcomed groups, including CCP games, Síminn, Efla. Héðinn, Orkuveitan, Míla and Marel.40 schools participated in the day and 17 tech companies invited them to take part in the STEM world.
