Description of the event

On 28 April 2025, a panel titled “Artificial Intelligence in Telecommunications” was held at the headquarters of the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) in Ankara. ITU Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin was the keynote speaker, delivering an inspiring opening address.The panel featured female executives leading artificial intelligence initiatives at Türkiye’s mobile operators. It was moderated by a senior female policymaker, Director General of Communications. The event was organized by BTK Academy, BTK’s training center. It addressed the impact of artificial intelligence on the telecommunications sector and its reflections on daily life, and also highlighted ITU’s work in the field and its cooperation with Türkiye.With the participation of female university students, the panel aimed to raise awareness among young women about the opportunities in AI, encouraging them to discover their po-tential and consider leadership careers in this dynamic field. As women with established careers in the ICT sector, the panellists offered encouragement and practical advice to the students, serving as inspiring role models for the next generation.
