Description of the event

To celebrate Girls in ICT Day 2025, Savana Signatures organized a three-day (21st April 2025 to 23rd April, 2025) free ICT training for 16 Junior High School girls from six schools: BACE Model JHS, Tiyumba JHS, Ambariya JHS, Kanvilli Tuunayilli JHS, Hassaniya JHS, and Dansheli JHS. Under the theme of "Girls in ICT for Inclusive Digital Transformation," the activity aimed to empower the girls with fundamental digital skills, introduce them to the possibilities ICTs present, and motivate them to consider future careers in technology.The training exposed the girls to ICT Essentials by first giving them an overview of what ICT is and how it affects their everyday lives. The girls were trained in how to use software tools in creating digital content, the basic functions of spreadsheets for organizational and data analysis purposes and learnt hands-on tips on online safety and ethical digital practice. The training was interactive and focused on building confidence and curiosity in an area where girls are often underrepresented. Savana Signatures considers this campaign as a significant step toward closing the gender gap in technology and advancing a digital future for everyone.
