Description of the event
|
The United Nations International Computing Centre (UNICC) Brindisi Outreach Team, in partnership with the University of Salento and Women in Big Data – Italy, has organized an "Interactive Talk" on 24 April 2025, to celebrate the International Girls in ICT Day. The aim is to promote female inclusion in technology and encourage young women to pursue careers in ICT.The event embraced the 2025 theme, “Bridging ALL Divides,” highlighting the need to overcome technological, social, cultural, and gender barriers for an inclusive digital future.By sharing their personal experiences, the challenges they overcame, and the stereotypes they defied, five senior female professionals at UNICC inspired students and younger generations, offering powerful real-life role models in a sector that is key to the future of work and society.The event was an opportunity to celebrate female talent, promote gender equality, and foster a fairer and more inclusive digital ecosystem.
