Description of the event
|
An event was recently held in the district of Jayanca, located in the region of Lambayeque, with the purpose of amplifying the voices and perspectives of girls who regularly use the Digital Access Centers (Centros de Acceso Digital - CAD). The gathering provided a platform for these young users to share their experiences and express how access to and use of information and communication technologies (ICTs), facilitated through the CAD, have influenced different aspects of their lives. The event emphasized the transformative role that digital inclusion can play, particularly in empowering girls in rural areas by enhancing their educational opportunities, fostering creativity, and strengthening their confidence in navigating the digital world. In their testimonies, the girls highlighted how the CAD not only serves as a physical space to connect to the internet, but also as a supportive environment where they can learn new digital skills, explore educational resources, and develop competencies that are essential in today’s interconnected world. For many, the CAD has become a bridge to broader opportunities—allowing them to envision futures that include higher education.
