At OrangeMelons, we’re more than just an IT company — we’re a company with a mission. We believe that girls have the same potential as boys, and we’re committed to changing the game in the tech sector. Our goal isn’t only to hire based on values and potential, but to actively inspire the next generation of women in tech. That’s why we’re proud to launch the Melon Girls Club — an internal initiative dedicated to empowering the amazing women at OrangeMelons and sparking broader social impact.Internally, the club will serve as a space for our female colleagues to come together, exchange ideas, and explore how we can create an even more inclusive and supportive workplace. From mentorship to skill development, we want to ensure our women are informed, inspired, and equipped to grow.Externally, we’ll take action to inspire young girls in our communities by organizing roundtables, workshops, and storytelling sessions aimed at showing that a future in tech is not only possible — it’s within reach. With our headquarters in Amsterdam and a strong team presence in North Macedonia and Kosovo, we also see this initiative as a bridge — connecting IT talent from our region with opportunitie

In a region where the patriarchal mindset still shapes many decisions, choosing a career path as a young woman often comes with limitations — not based on talent, but on tradition. Girls are frequently encouraged to pursue professions that allow them to juggle housework rather than chase their dreams or financial independence. But change begins with the brave. And one of those brave individuals is Erzana, a dedicated software engineer at OrangeMelons, who dared to dream differently — nearly two decades ago. When Erzana decided to study IT in 2006, she was judged twice: once for choosing a male-dominated profession, and again for not following her family’s well-established path in medicine. Coming from a household of doctors, her decision confused many. “Why would a girl want to do that?” they asked. But Erzana didn’t follow expectations — she followed her passion. She was one of just two girls in her university class, often underestimated, often overlooked, yet never defeated. Through years of perseverance and resilience, she not only carved out a successful career in tech but became a role model for countless young girls in her community. Today, Erzana is not just a senior IT professional — she’s a symbol of what happens when women are empowered to lead in fields where they’ve historically been excluded. At OrangeMelons, we’re proud to have her as part of our team, and even prouder to share her story in celebration of Girls in ICT Day. Because when one girl dares to break the mold, she opens the door for many others to follow.
