Description of the event
|
This one-day Girls in ICT Conference is organized to commemorate the International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) International Girls in ICT Day which falls on the fourth Thursday of April every year. WITSI’s participation in this event is an initiative to empower young female students by fostering their interest in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), equipping them with digital skills, and inspiring and encouraging them to pursue careers in the growing technology field.This year’s event aims to engage students from 30 schools and institutions from all over Solomon Islands Capital Honiara.By bringing together students, teachers, ICT enthusiasts, and ICT professionals, the conference creates a dynamic platform to inspire, educate, and encourage more young girls to explore technology-driven careers and take part in the digital future of the Solomon Islands.
