Description of the event
|
Association of Business Women in Serbia (ABW) has been organizing Girls in ICT Day for 15 years, with the first event held on April 28, 2011. The initiative encourages girls to follow their interests and talents, rather than gender stereotypes, when choosing a profession.Key Activities of the Event:1.Company Visits – During the event week, students visit ICT companies, as well as businesses owned or led by women. These visits offer firsthand exposure to real-world workplaces, networking opportunities with women entrepreneurs and managers, and insights into diverse career possibilities.2.. "Catch the Idea" Competition – Since 2016 girls from registered schools participated in creating and submitting innovative video projects. From this year the competition involves creating a project / animation using Python code and block programming.3. Closing Ceremony & Awards – The best projects are awarded in a special ceremony celebrating the participants' creativity and efforts.Over the past 14 years, more than 11,200 girls have taken part in the program.
