Description of the event
|
In conjunction with the International Girls in ICT Day 2024, the AITI organised a Digital Arts Competition and the main event consisting of a series of experience sharing and mentorship sessions with the theme of “Empowering Girls in STEM Leadership”. The Digital Arts Competition commenced on the International Girls in ICT Day 2024 on 25 April 2024 and closed on 20 May 2024. The competition was opened to female students from Year 7 to Year 11 (ages 11 to 17) in Brunei Darussalam and aims to showcase their talent in digital arts based on the theme of 'Leadership'. A total of fifteen submissions were received. On 29 May 2024, the main event was held whereby a series of experience sharing and mentorship sessions were conducted by presenters who were also judges for the Digital Arts Competition. Presenters during the event included two (2) female representatives from the private sector and the Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) Team, Sengkurong Sixth Form Centre. The event was attended by more than fifty (50) female students ranging from Year 7 to Year 11 from government and private schools. The event then concluded with a prize presentation ceremony for the Digital Arts Competition.
