Within the framework of the International Day of Girls in ICT (Information and Communication Technology), girls, adolescents and young women participated in the panel ''Cracking the code of girls' leadership in technology'', an event organized by the Fund of the United Nations Children's Fund, UNICEF, in alliance with Tigo Nicaragua, NicaWomanTech and WomanTechMakers.Girls and adolescent students from the Nicarao School and San Sebastián Public School of the Ministry of Education participated as special guests in the event, who have developed digital skills within the framework of the Educational Technology strategy. Liz, 11 years old and a sixth grade student, explained during the event: ‘‘I use technology on my phone, when I have to do research tasks, I use it to search for information. Technology helps me find information faster, and when we girls are bored we can entertain ourselves with a game.”UNICEF has a global strategy dedicated to girls and adolescents. The strategy includes among its key programmatic solutions with and for adolescents and girls, the promotion of learning, skills and agency.
