Amazon hosted 23 middle school students from Excel Academy, an all-girls public school in Washington, DC. The girls had the opportunity to engineer their own Kuiper satellites, tour Amazon offices and hear from some of our incredible women engineers and policy professionals.The highlight of the day was hearing from Project Kuiper’s Head of Global Regulatory Affairs, Julie Zoller. Julie exemplified this year’s “Leadership” theme by sharing how she came to lead a global regulatory team at Amazon. She shared her own passion for space policy and taught the students about the importance of taking on projects that stretch the limits of their comfort zone.
