Description of the event
|
This event is a structured celebration of Girls ICT Day in South Sudan that will have 25 attendees from nearby schools in the age range of 12 to 19. We have curated a presentation and activities around the theme of Leadership. We shall start the day with an introductory session and simple refreshments for our attendees, we shall then have a short ice breaker where our attendees will name the African Women who inspire them in ICT policy and leadership. They shall then briefly share their answers and get a gift for their answers. The next segment in the event is a presentation on Girls in ICT, the role they play in Leadership and Policy making in our country. This shall then segue into Lean in Girls, and inspiring the girls to tie in their love of technology with confidence, resilience, and mentorship to help them succeed and be impactful. After the presentation we shall have a brief technology showcase with a cool game built on scratch and a hardware showcase with an Arduino to get the girls familiar with tech and make it fun and approachable to them. We shall then have a visualisation session where the girls can think about their place in leadership ending, in refreshments and Q&A
