Description of the event
|
The Ugandan Communications Commission (UCC) and Kololo Senior Secondary School are joining forces to celebrate Girls in ICT Day, focusing on leadership. With 100 girls and 25 teachers participating, the event showcases the commitment of girls above 18 who enrolled in the ITU Academy's "Introduction to Technical and Soft Skills with the African Girls Can Code Initiative." Certificates will be awarded to those completing the course, recognising their dedication, while the girls will demonstrate their coding skills and share their ICT learning challenges. Keynotes and guest speakers from STEM fields will inspire the girls, highlighting the diverse opportunities available to them. Through this collaboration, UCC and Kololo Senior Secondary School are actively working to bridge the gender gap in ICT and cultivate the next generation of female tech leaders, shaping a more inclusive and innovative future for Uganda's ICT sector.
