Girls Takeover Day aims to empower young girls interested in ICT careers by providing them with hands-on leadership experiences within the telecommunications and ICT sector. This initiative aligns with the theme of Celebrating Girls in ICT 2024: Leading the Future, scheduled for Thursday, April 25th.The Girls Take over week will spread over a week( 15th -18th March) with 5 girls from 10 Different schools across juba ( 50 students) being paried with Women in different companies In the telecom/ICT sector for a day of job shadowing. ( each school and company are delegated a day. Background and Rationale: Despite progress, women remain underrepresented in leadership roles within the ICT industry. Girls Takeover Day addresses this disparity by offering girls aged 15-18 an opportunity to experience leadership firsthand. By highlighting female role models and showcasing the diverse possibilities within ICT careers, this initiative seeks to inspire and empower girls to pursue leadership positions in STEM fields.
