The Lightshore Foundation, in conjunction with Volunteer Opportunities, is gearing up to host a virtual meeting titled "Girls in ICT Day,” set to take place on April 25, 2024. This year's International Girls in ICT Day will center around the theme “Digital Skills for Life,” emphasizing the importance of technological proficiency. The event will feature a webinar followed by a Steam workshop tailored for 50 school-going girls, to be conducted by the Bangladesh Robotic Foundation.During the upcoming event, mediators will engage in dynamic discussions on the challenges faced by women in the IT sector. Nusrat Mumu, a member of Lightshore, will serve as the moderator for these discussions. Currently, the proposed panelists include Dr. Sejuti Saha, Md. Abdul Quayyum, Zara Mahbub, and Imran Kadir.The webinar is expected to draw an audience of over 150 women and youth from across the country. Organizers highlight that, presently, approximately 25 percent of female students are pursuing information technology at the university level.
