Description of the event
|
Over the past years, the Girls in ICT Day celebrations have involved the engagement of girls and young women from different schools together in activities to showcase their digital skills, share knowledge and exchange experiences and aspirations in the ICT sector. During the previous event in 2023, it was highlighted that due to a limited number of girls joining the event, it was proposed that hosting the event in one of the schools would provide an opportunity for more girls to participate and contribute to the event. Furthermore, this approach will foster ownership and sustainability of the initiative and will aim to set an example for other schools not only in Addis Ababa but also in the other regions to be part of the initiative in a collective effort to bridge the digital gender divide. Preparations are ongoing with the selected school to organize the event that will take place on Thursday 25th April.
