Each year, Flow and the Flow Foundation celebrate Girls in ICT Day by supporting workshops, coding challenges, conferences and school talks that are hosted by non-governmental organizations, private sector companies and public sector entities. In 2023, Flow played a more active role in the commemoration of this calendar day by hosting the flagship event for Girls in ICT Day in Jamaica – an Expo titled Digital Skills for Life. Flow will again host this event in 2024 under the ITU’s theme for 2024, Leadership. Flow’s GIICT Day celebration will take the format of a 6-hour expo focused on exposing high school girls to career opportunities in STEM to encourage them to consider such careers.The Expo will consist of 4 key elements: An opening ceremony with greetings from the Minister of Science Energy & Technology, Minister of Digital Skills & Transformation & FlowA Keynote Speech delivered by Jamaican Born Aerospace Engineer and Technology Policy Specialist Ayanna SamuelsA Fireside Chat with Ayanna Samuels and Child Prodigy Jada Wright.A Coding Challenge and awards ceremony (Coding Challenge to be organized and executed by STEM Builders)Displays from partners
