We are introducing primary school-aged rural girls to ICT. This will be a hands-on exercise. The aim is to help school-aged girls in rural areas to appreciate using computers early in life. Our target is girls in primary four classes. We will visit two primary schools with at least 10 computers. First, the children will be introduced to the uses of computers and then the hands-on workshop will follow. The hands-on workshop will involve using a computer to do a class assignment (find information online, download, print, read and use the information gained to complete a given class assignment. As a result of the limited number of computers available, the children will work in groups of four children on a computer.
