Description of the event
|
This will be our 7th year celebrating International Girls in ICT Day and we are excited to come together in-person. For the first time, this year this will be taking place across multiple UK BBC locations in London, Salford, Birmingham and Belfast.Each year this event is organised as a group from BBC WiSTEM (the Women in STEM staff network) in partnership with BBC STEM. We will be welcoming around 60 schoolgirls to participate in a day of workshops showcasing some of our fantastic STEM and ICT associated work. Throughout the day the girls will also meet some of the inspiring women and men who work in related roles, demonstrating the breadth of opportunities available here at the BBC. The event will open with a welcoming message streamed across all locations and will close with a panel discussion and Q&A, again streamed across all participating sites.
