Description of the event
|
This year, International Telecommunication Union (ITU) will be in partnership with the School of Professional Studies, Columbia University, United Nations International Computing Center (UNICC) and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) for a very special in-person event to celebrate International Girls in ICT Day 2024 on Thursday, April 25th, bringing together women and girls in science, technology and innovation (STI) at Career Design Lab, Columbia University, School of Professional Studies. The event will convene girls and students with women mentors from the private sector, the United Nations, NGOs, and academia to meet and be inspired by each other, participate in fun ice-breaker activities, discuss the themes of International Girls in ICT Day, and engage in science/technology/innovation-related hands-on activities. The event will feature a design thinking session facilitated by Ms. Lee Kim and Dr. Joann Halpern.
