Description of the event
|
The 2024 edition of GIRLSTEAM will take place on April 24th and will feature practical activities and demonstrations at Técnico – Taguspark campus, specifically designed for primary, basic and secondary school students in the Oeiras region.The event is part of the celebrations of the International Girls in ICT Day (Girls in ICT 2024). This day, marked annually, is an international effort promoted by the United Nations agency ITU (International Telecommunication Union), and aims to encourage and empower young girls to pursue studies and careers in fields related to information and communication technology (ICT), promoting gender equality in the STEAM areas (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). Instituto Superior Técnico actively participates in this celebration, contributing to raising awareness and involving girls in ICT.
