Sisters of Code in Cambodia celebrated International Girls in ICT Day 2024 with the theme "Leadership" this year again, making it already 3rd year. The event aimed to empower girls and young women to join ICT industry brought together over 60 girls of different ages.The event featured three inspiring guest speakers sharing their journeys in tech: 1) Mrs. Kim Tol Tan, led activities on personal leadership development. 2) Mrs. Fat Si Em, a telecom company executive, shared her perseverance as the sole woman in her field, providing an example of female leadership while balancing career and family.3) Ms. Phen Phalideth, a Sisters of Code alumna, defied limitations from her rural Cambodian roots to obtain a master's degree in computing.Interactive group discussions explored opportunities, challenges, and the importance of access to scholarships and supportive communities for girls pursuing tech careers. An engaging ICT quiz tested participants' knowledge, with top scorers receiving Sisters of Code prizes.The event aimed to ignite passion in young minds for tech education and careers, highlighting remarkable women's contributions.
