Description of the event
|
For fourteen years, the Association of Business Women in Serbia has been marking the International Girls in ICT Day. In the past 14 years, more than 11,000 girls have participated in the event. This year, more than 1,000 girls from over 100 schools across the country participated in the event. The final event and the announcement of the winners of the "Catch the Idea" competition were organized by the ABW Serbia with the support of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications. In addition to the selection for the best video work, visits (live and online) of girls – students of the seventh and eighth grades of elementary schools to companies were organized. This year 1.125 girls visited companies from the ICT sector, those whose owners are women or women are in management positions, or companies whose activities are atypically female. Meetings and conversations with female managers, both live and via online platforms (Zoom, MS Teams), were organized from March 28 to May 31, 2024. Online visits additionally enabled schools and students to meet female managers outside their place of residence.
