Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of Cambodia (MPTC)


H.E Tram Iv Tek is a Cambodian politician and the current Minister of Posts and Telecommunications. He was born in Kompong Speu Province, Cambodia in 1948. He is married and has two children. He was formerly Minister of Public Works and Transport from 2008 to 2016.

After graduated as a civil engineer from the “Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chausses” in Paris in 1973 and received Doctor Engineer at the University of Paris in 1975, he returned home to Cambodia during the Khmer Rouge Regime. With the courage and dedication to rebuild the country after the genocide regime, he started his career as Deputy Director of Cambodian Railwayin 1979. His main duty was to maintain the railway working condition after every attack by the Khmer Rouge. In 1985, he was promoted and became Vice Minister for Ministry of Communications, Transport and Posts from 1985-1993. He then served as Secretary of State for Ministry of Public Works and Transport from 1993-2008 and became Minister of Public Works and Transport from 2008 to 2016.

He also serves as deputy director of Council of Engineers in Cambodia and a member of ASEAN Engineering.
