Over the years Girls in ICT Day has been celebrated in the Gambia by the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority as part of its regulatory support role in collaboration with other stakeholders such as the The Ministry of Information and Communication Infrastructure (MOICI), the Ministry of Youth and Sports, The Ministry of Higher and Basic Education and Private sector operators. 

The Authority as part of its role in championing the growth and development of ICT in the Gambia, oversees the celebration of this event every year. This year’s celebration is in partnership with the Hackathon Girls (a group of young dynamic minds that are already in IT, who work together to empower and encourage more females into the field of technology in other to break the stereotype most girls face in their communities); to conduct a training centered on programming to help persuade more girls to venture into ICT careers paths especially software development.

This year's event consisted of three main activities leading to the official celebration day on 25th April 2019.

Event 1: Girls in ICT Innovative creative program

Event  2: Girls in ICT Mentor-ship program

Official Event : - Workshop
