Walkathon, Hackathon Awards, Promotors Recognition and Showcasing/Exhibition of Girls in ICT products

Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) has announced its Girls in ICT day 2019 celebration program in its website https://nta.gov.np/ne/gict-20190411/ . This year NTA is collecting the summary reports of Girls in ICT activities from organisations / institutions who have been conducting Girls in ICT events in Nepal. NTA shall award best five Girls in ICT related organisations in Nepal on 25 April 2019 for the day celebration for encouraging. 

Besides this, NTA is also collecting the information of the the products/projects/apps/hardware/ software etc developed by girls through different Girls in ICT programs/projects. Selected Girls in ICT products shall be showcased or allowed for exhibition as part of NTA's International Girls ICT 2019 celebration in 2019. 

Prior to this NTA has already announced awarding of selected ten Girls in ICT programs to be conducted throughout all provinces in Nepal as published in https://nta.gov.np/wp-content/uploads/Selected-List.pdf after collecting girls in ICT program proposals through the public notice https://nta.gov.np/ne/gict-2019/. Altogether 53 Girls in ICT program proposals were registered at NTA. The selected programs shall be conducted in series in April and May 2019 in active participation of NTA. Among the selected programs, NTA shall winners of Girls in ICT Hackathon going to be organised in Kaski, Province 4, Nepal by CSIT Association of Nepal before the Girls in ICT day.

To remark the International Girls in ICT day 2019 this year, NTA shall start the day with a walkathon program engaging girls seeking career in ICT along with our Girls in ICT partners and other institutions / communities promoting Girls in ICT. Besides that NTA shall request telecom service providers in Nepal to spread informative girls in ICT day related messages to their customers through bulk SMS on 25 April 2019 for message spreading.
