Girl Thing is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping female college students enrolled in ICT studies to overcome gender gap and by creating opportunities for developing skills in programming and engineering that they do not have in regular classes. This organization is a part of Students council on Faculty of electrical engineering in Tuzla and it was founded in December 2018. Main members of this organization include female students of Faculty of electrical engineering and girls from local high schools.

This year we would like to organize an event marking the global Girls in ICT day, where our members would present this organization and results of the IT projects they have been involved in. In addition, event will include a panel discussion with successful female IT entrepreneurs in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Main idea of this event is to inspire girls and young female students to engage in IT projects, by allowing them to talk to women already successful in this type of industry. For all the role models who wouldn't be able to join us in Tuzla, we will record a short message from them and play at the event.

This is the first ICT event that we would be organizing, but we plan to extend next year and host a challenge or a hackathon for girls and students. We are currently in process of organizing and if this proposal is accepted as an event, we plan on creating posters and presentations with already available resources.
