International Girls in ICT Day (Minna, Niger State, Nigeria)

We believe that the youths are the leaders of tomorrow and by empowering a woman, we are empowering the world. The celebration of the International Girls In ICT day 2019 in Minna, Niger state, Nigeria, is going to be a 3-day event. 

The event aims at empowering young secondary school girls to become web developers using wordpress, learn how to create e-mail accounts and also hear success stories of women leaders in ICTs and STEM related fields.  

We agree with ITU that supporting the education of women and girls in the ICT sector is also in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular SDG 5, aimed at achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls through, among others, ICTs. 

Therefore, we are eager and ready to empower the young girls in Niger state through ICTs from the 25th to 27th of April, 2019.

This is a personal project of Uzuegbunam Ebere Antoinette (a youth corp member) in collaboration with NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE CORP AND THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS NIGER STATE.
