Uganda Communications Commission in partnership with Women in Technology celebrated the International Girls in ICT on Thursday 31st May 2018, from 9am-4pm at Nabisunsa Girls School. The actual Girls in ICT day (26th April); coincided with the school exam timetable which necessitated the shift to a later date. 

The event had about 300 participants from both primary and secondary schools, and the Hon. Minister of State for ICT and National Guidance Hon. Aida Nantaba was the Guest of Honor.

The event focused on encouraging the usage of ICT's for development, invited role models/individuals using ICT's in the different sectors (academia, business, health, agricultures, tourism, and ICT); to share their stories with the students and mentor the young girls and women on the verge of making subject choices that would determine their future career paths.

 Participating secondary schools were invited to showcase their innovation/s in a exhibition for which the winning school received an award.
