International Girls in ICT day event by Oracle encourages this generation of girls to take up careers in Information and Communication Technology and join the Technology industry. The sector holds enormous opportunities for women with the requisite skills to bridge the gender gap and to ensure a more diverse and innovative workforce. We at Oracle are committed to nurture a pipeline of talent in STEM Education .The need is to accelerate our effort. Even doubling the pace of women becoming frequent users of digital technologies—which would contribute to gender equality in the workplace by 2040 in developed countries and by 2060 in developing countries—is not good enough.

We are over years organizing the event and this year in Hyderabad in collaboration with Sreenidhi Institute of Science & Technology. The girls will be introduced to the latest trends and emerging technologies by Oracle Technocrats. Women as role models can do wonders.

 Why the urgency

Future of Work : Mere acquisition of digital skills and degree in Computer science will not make graduates employable. Current and emerging technology is fundamentally altering the job market, the type of jobs that will exist in the future and the skills that will be required for those jobs.  Businesses are going to change with disruptive technologies   Artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, Machine Learning, Intelligent BOTS, Blockchain, Augmented and Virtual reality. Careers lie there.
