The IBI Foundation will be holding a one-day Girls in ICT commemorative event on May 10, 2018.

This will be third year that the Foundation is keying into the ITU's goal of encouraging girls to take up careers in the field of ICT.

In 2017, the Foundation and its partners (Media Range Limited and Veritrax Solutions) got support from Wordpress, MTN, Union Bank and a host of others to deliver the event to a group of 250 girls at the Foundation's Centre in Abuja. The event featured talks, real life experiences shared by young women in tech, a Skyped-in Session from a female Wordpress tech support member in the US and exhibitions by the Enspire Business Incubator (under the Abuja Technology Village) and others.

In 2018, the number of girls targeted has been increased to 300.
