To commemorate this year’s International Girls in ICT Day, the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) and CANTO joined forces to host a technology workshop titled “When I Grow Up!” for over 60 female secondary school students. The event was held over two days, 26^th to 27^th April 2018.

The “When I Grow Up!” event introduced these students to ICT career opportunities and involved them in hands-on ICT creation workshops, such as Scratch Animation, 2D and 3D Graphics. It also provided an excellent platform for them to interact with female professionals currently operating in Trinidad and Tobago’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector.

The primary objective of Girls in ICT Day is to engage, enlighten and empower young girls to see the wonderful possibilities and opportunities of what the future can hold in pursuing a career in ICT, as well as see themselves as future leaders within the ICT industry.
